This is both true and real and also how I met a lot of my friends and got work. Like, really, just be normal and personable and aim to make friends instead of contacts. It works AND you might get cool people who link you things AND you might even get to scritch their pets' chins one day. All wins!
for real though it's pretty easy to find the people who make the things you like and befriend them by being normal and fun. stressing 'normal' here
networking is an incredibly important part of maintaining a professional presence in your creative industry, but it can be daunting. have you tried being completely fucking ridiculous online
