I got into star Trek because my mother taped the entirety of Original Series on VHS. For herself. And then we watched it as a family.
Like two thirds of the Trek fans I know are female, and that’s always been true.

This is so so so so so good. I'm a huge reader of Butler (and sci-fi dystopia in general). This is a peek into Butler's methods for compiling history and psychology and her vast imagination to create such important works of speculative fiction. And that in the dystopia, she signposts a way forward.
