What do we think the chances the person ahead of me in the library queue will be organised enough to return the book on ADHD and dyspraxia on time?

Just saw a routemaster drive past my suburban home which happens to be almost as far from London as you can get.

I did know there was one in the region, but still, that was a brief "is there a glitch?" moment.

Nice bit of good news this morning, which I'll be able to share later in the month.

I want to make a list of *short stories* (any genre) published by intersex authors in 2025 & hopefully going forward. I've been meaning to do this for a while, and I think now there are plenty of stories.

If you have some stories, let me know / if not, please repost to spread the word?

Thank you!

Once again I'm at <3 hours to go on my monthly deadlines and still frantically typing. How to get enough adrenaline to work from sources other than panic?

Got an email from the Chief Executive of my day job with the subject line "Attitude" and was all "oh my god I'm in trouble now" but fortunately she just wanted to alert us to a relevant episode of the TV programme "Attitude".

"Runctitiononal features"? "Medical fymblal"? "1 Tol Line storee"? This gets worse the longer you look at it. But it's got to be good, because it was published in Nature Scientific Reports last week: www.nature.com/articles/s41... h/t @asa.tsbalans.se

Re other sources of income: I have a part-time (technically contract) job, in the wider writing/editing sphere. It pays enough. I like what I do, but it's under threat from people who don't value it. Next year is looking uncertain and stressful. I also have a partner who earns enough but not heaps.

Sorry to everyone who thinks there should be fewer romances involving grief, but we all just lived through a mass death/disabling historical event with absolutely zero public rhetoric about it (or the fact that it’s ongoing) and grief romances is one big way we’re all Working That Out

I published some pieces I'm deeply proud of this year. My second novel, one of my most personal novelettes, one of my weirdest short stories, and an essay on an idea that's been nagging me for years.

We elect people who value numbers on a piece of paper over whether actual people eat or have a roof over their head or can get healthcare when they sick. We elect people who value numbers on a piece of a paper over children eating or being educated. I also note that the numbers are all fake.
