The most online former A-10 basketball player. Current adult dad. Burlington Coat Factory influencer. My only character flaw is that I love the Boston Celtics.
He was like apex de-escalator there. Proud of him.

Super embarrassing too. Hyping the crowd like a tough go down 30. Lol

It would change every game too. Some plays on, some plays off. It effectively turned every BoB into an ATO opp. Similarly, on defense, we had our own dialect, completely foreign to the opponent. We wouldn’t yell “i got your help,” we’d yell shit like “I’m hot I’m hot!”

We never “called” a BoB play, as that would tip off the defense. Instead, Beilein would assign a different call to each assistant coach. We’d all glance at the bench, whichever coach was standing = a specific play. If standing coach’s arms were crossed, it meant a variant of that play…

Sorry. I grew up in a catholic family. Hate church. But I did always enjoying hearing a priest put their spin on that bar.

I like Cal! He was sneakily around somewhat regularly when I was there and very supportive of the program/players.

This is also super hard to teach. Most players think “playing well” means doing something noticeable — score, steal, block a shot, etc.

We end practice by letting the kids each heave a prayer from the volleyball line. They love it. For each make coaches have to do 5 push up. Today, they made 2. When we started our push ups, the whole team dropped down too and did them with us — happy as can be. Felt like a profound moment.
