The gun is irrelevant. If he hadn't had a gun they'd make up another reason. They lie, so there's literally nothing you can do that won't make them invent an excuse for their public street execution. They lied about the last one. They lie about the ones they sent to El Salvador. They lie.

just gonna throw out a quick reminder that in America police kill a yearly average of 3 civilians per day, routinely in situations very similar to these ICE killings, and decades of explicit support for police impunity by US politicians is why ICE feels theyre able to get away with this right now
Our government is murdering the citizens of this country. They are doing it without any checks on their violence

I don’t want to hear anything from an elected official unless it’s a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

The MN general strike was so much bigger than the enormous march downtown. This photo, taken by someone local yesterday at 8:45 a.m. yesterday, shows over if the major commuter highways in Minneapolis. On a normal weekday at that time, it would be wall to wall cars.

It's -20 in Minneapolis and organizers are in the streets before dawn getting ready for actions related to the general strike. They've had locals training out-of-town volunteers on how to prepare for and endure the cold. AND IT IS WORKING. THE STRIKE IS HAPPENING. THE CITY IS DOING THE DAMN THING...

National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

We are in fact DESPERATE for winter coats, waterproof gloves, and good boots. We get so many wonderful donations but it is so cold and the numbers of unhoused unsheltered people are going up at the absolute worst time for it, and we run out of coats weekly.
The frigid Twin Cities temperatures will hurt the homeless; so do not gloat about the impact on ICE without also stepping up here:
If you're still able to help Minnesota, @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social is always accepting donations. $10 buys a pack of handwarmers. If you were given Amazon gift cards this year for Christmas, you can shop their Amazon wishlist: linktr.ee/sanctuarysup...

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.

This is trash. Local law enforcement around the country has been HELPING ICE. Give them the money and they'll just do ICE's dirty work for them. If Heinrich represents you, call him up and tell him NO. Support the @usprogressives.bsky.social's plan to give that $ to affordable housing instead.
Public safety means stopping violent crime — not weaponizing ICE against our communities.

That’s why I'm proposing a bill that redirects nearly $75 billion from ICE to local law enforcement.

There's some tests society insists on taking over and over again until we get a different answer.

1. Does gen AI help productivity
2. Does UBI work
3. Does a 4 day work week work.

They only want a "yes" to one of those questions

🧵This country has a deep history of resisting & rejecting oppression. It isn’t often taught or acknowledged.

We need to know. We need to learn from our elders, ancestors, & political forebears. Now.

A thread about that. I will inevitably miss many examples; pls reply or QT with additions.

Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.
