BRENNAN: You said 'occupying force.' Don't you think that's a bit much?

FREY: When you have 3,000 ICE agents and CBP come to your city, when you've got this supposed threat of 1,500 military coming to your city, that's very much what it feels like

You mean controlling our perceptions as in "Dems bad, GOP good" and "protesters bad, ICE good" and "white normies good, everyone else suspect or bad." This promotes irrational black and white thinking. Most Americans aren't so fearful and simple-minded as to believe state violence is the way forward
I sure hope so. We all have to cut through the BS agitprop/disinfo stuff, though. The reason the fascists won is that they figured out how to control people's perceptions of reality.

Congress can stop ICE. Congress can block the use of force in Greenland. In other words, in this crisis, Congress can act to support civil liberties at home and free nations abroad. To fail to act would be to be complicit in a dreadful outcome.

The markets did everything they could to hold steady in the face of the Jerome Powell subpoenas, but I’m not sure they’ll do well with this news.
Looks like the EU-US trade deal is now dead, with all three major groups in the EU Parliament calling at least for suspension. The downward spiral has already begun.

The EU is responding exactly as it should. If US markets tank, maybe the wall street psychos will finally start blaming the administration for something.

The thing is, some people can make mistakes, get things wrong, be careless, etc. But that’s not what Jennings did here. Jennings knowingly, purposefully and intentionally lied to utterly distort what was said, which CNN pays him to do every day. CNN is the enabler of this.

If you weaponize the DOJ to intimidate elected officials, that’s not “politics.” It’s a federal crime. Retaliatory investigations violate civil‑rights and obstruction laws. Anyone turning law enforcement into a threat is advertising their own liability.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I know journalists (and I assume especially photo journalists) tend not to want to become the story. But this is an incredible photo. The fact that a viewer can tell that you just threw your camera (based on your hand position) to avoid it (and photos on it) from being seized (pro move) is A+.
