One thought I have recurring constantly is that we under-estimate in the academy, regardless of the amount of stupidity and condescension present herein, how the overwhelming stupidity and historical illiteracy of the American public contributes to so much of *gestures at our world*

One thing about everything being so horrible at TAMU is that everybody Ive reached out to for possible help has been like "yeah this is fascism, lets zoom and figure something out for you" and I think the solidarity there is nice

The "crisis at the border" always meant "there are too many brown and black people in my neighborhood, and I don't like it." All the supposed "legitimate concerns" about the border policy were always racism.

Texas is indeed a complicated and large place....but after living in College Station for a year, I cannot wait to never come here again. I think Houston, SA, Austin and El Paso are wonderful though, despite the fact that I wish to never see this state again

The message from the White House this morning is that, once again, it falls on ordinary American citizens to remain calm and professional when dealing with the heavily armed agents of the government because they are very emotional and might fly off into a murderous rage at the slightest insult.
