I’ve had complaints about the VA here and there, but I can’t describe how good it feels to be able to go to a doctor when I need to without worrying about money.
American socialized medicine is amazing. I have it. Presidents have it. I wish everyone had it. We should make this happen ASAP.

My feelings about my military service are complicated and ever evolving, but one thing that I’m certain of is that my experience of war, of doing violence and having violence done to me, all for no reason whatsoever in the end, has left me with an almost crippling empathy for my fellow human beings.
