@drdavidgk.bsky.social would you be interested in this story? This is the widespread covering of microplastics all over the fields of England. Mixed with compost from domestic green waste bins. It’s a national scandal & completely legal. This was filmed on a National Nature Reserve in Staffordshire

We could do a hell of a lot worse than Ed Miliband as the next Prime Minister.
Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has announced today a record £1bn invest in community-owned energy. This is the start of an energy ownership revolution which will see communities and community assets benefit from renewables in their areas.

📺 Watch him explain.

On #WorldWetlandsDay I thought I would share some pictures of wetland creation my group has done in South Staffordshire I’m very proud of the collaboration between local land owners, EA, Wildlife Trust and other CICs to create this little oasis. More work planned next month.

All those who wrongly believe that nature collapse might be 'sad', but won't really affect them in any way, badly need to wake up.

Nature isn't just 'nice to have'.

Planet Earth is only liveable – for *us* too – due to the regulating effects of natural ecosystems.

Critically, we also need the public to support actions that enable older people to live great lives without having to drive for when they fail the eye tests. So the public need to get onboard with no pavement parking, pedestrian priority, denser housing, fewer out-of-town shopping centres, etc etc

Millions of tiny particles of plastics have been spread on these fields, right next to a National Nature Reserve in Staffordshire. This grass is for pasture so cows no doubt will be ingesting the plastic. If that’s not bad enough these microplastics will end up in the food chain for humans to consume

BREAKING: we are taking legal action against France for failing to protect seabirds from bycatch. 🎣🐦

With Sea Shepherd FR & Défense des Milieux Aquatiques, we want to ensure that they:

a) Adequately collect data on bycatch.
b) Implement required mitigation measures to reduce this hidden tragedy.

Always astonishing to see how quickly fish respond to these changes too!
