Library cryptid disguised as a Director. historian, textile artist, craft dabbler.

Go read a book - you really need to do so. Read a lot of books - learn something outside of your confirmation bias.

The crows demand it. And go outside.
A very dark turn from "The Nutcracker", the story of twins born on a Christmas day and cursed by their wizardly godfather. Travels to a different land with the help of a nutcracker, vengeance, darkness, set in pre- revolution Russia.

Good kinda wins.

A dark fairytale fun read. 10/10. #booksky 💙📚

My goal is to have a feather tree like this someday; I've wanted one since 2002.

How a friend decorates hers.

This is the morning for surprises- today, a surprise chicken.

There she was, in the middle of the coops area. I didn't think she looked like one of ours, but I did a headcount before letting them out anyway.

I'll check with an elderly neighbor to see if it might be hers.

If not, new chicken.

The list, and the mine nearby that many of them may have worked in.

One of those former thriving communities reduced to the cemetery, some old mine buildings and a few houses people still live in - all the rest gone.

OK - Long ago - like 10 years - this is the White Pine, Colorado - we side tripped on a road trip.

Many graves had sunken or never been marked with a stone, as was common in mining towns, but an effort had been made to ark the graves, and provide a list of "residents".

Once again - a book, so recently published that you're going to have to sit and await the next book dropping.

Political intrigue, a murder in the midst of it, the common folk becoming integral to the story - the difference? They're all immortals, and mortals are a myth- or are they?

9/10 📚💙

Reading too much Kafka lately?

I'm not going to call this an education problem, because ALL Americans learned about this in school - at all three levels of public school, in mandatory classes.

I call this a "I didn't pay attention then, so I'm being an idiot now."

And the maple tree wayyyy on the top of the hill, and the fall trees on the mountainside across the way.

The wind already took a lot of leaves down.

The cut, looking rather mysterious in the twilight of an already gloomy day.

Last of the wild roses for the year, the witch hazel in full glory, the beauty berry getting ready to be done for the winter, and a perfect maple leaf from the tree waaaay up on the hill.

Doesn't this look perfectly seasonal?

Husband and Daughter came and got me, told me to put on the big lens.

Daughter called this the Vulture Christmas Tree. She counted at least 70 in all the trees.
