There really are so many undiscovered choke points
Please enjoy this local news: “Lehigh County Executive Josh Siegel said he is evicting an Immigration and Customs Enforcement unit from a county-owned building where it has occupied an office for about three years but never paid rent…
“We’re going to deport ICE,” Pinsley said at the news conference”
Lehigh County exec says he’s evicting ICE agents from Allentown office, citing 3 years of unpaid rent
Lehigh County Executive Josh Siegel’s announcement to evict the ICE agents came shortly after the county’s financial watchdog revealed the agency owes more than $115,000 in rent.

Absolutely no one here is saying don’t vote. If you don’t vote you’re a fool. But Democrats need new leaders so that their voters do not feel they’re been stranded on an island.
So sick of this. It doesn’t matter how you vote if you spend every day convincing other people that voting isn’t worth it because both sides suck.

That is the takeaway from platforms like this one, whether it’s your intention or not.

Every city and county should do this
Josh Siegel, the new Lehigh County Executive, is kicking ICE out of its Allentown office. “[Their] failure to pay rent, combined with DHS’s national reputation for recklessness, chaos, and public disorder, warrants ending any relationship with the County. We will not accept their blood money.”
Citing $115,000 in unpaid rent, Lehigh County evicts ICE from Allentown office space
County Executive Josh Siegel says the Department of Homeland Security’s ‘national reputation for recklessness’ warrants termination of a county lease agreement with the federal agency.

trump getting his feelings hurt by european leaders is the culmination of this new type of guy that emerged in the last decade or so: guy who goes out of his way to be a huge asshole who then gets really offended when the people he's being an asshole to don't like him

I didn't say it was. I said he's lost his goddamn mind. Take it however you want to take it. But having known him for many years I will say there's is a facility missing. He had more of it even four years ago.
I think it is a mistake to think his condition is dementia. Trump has always been like this it’s just now he has ultimate power and no guard rails. He’s always been a really shitty stupid person.

Some people think that. I do not. Rizzuto belongs in the Hall of Fame. So does Mazeroski.
Sir, I think the biggest mistake is us thinking the HOF is only for the Ruths, Robinsons, and Clementes.

And when Utley gets in, I'll bet you anything he says in his speech that he's not there without Rollins.
I mean to say Utley is head and shoulders above Kent. Utley is one of those players the new statistics are made for; you see how he measures up with those and there's no question. But I do think a reason why many votes so suddenly flipped to Utley is being held against Kent.

Get the hell out of here with Shapiro. If you're in line for the Vice Presidency you're asked three dozen questions you'd sock anyone else in the mouth for. I've sat across the table from guys like him a hundred times and I always walk away richer.

I agree with our friend @jamellebouie.net. There is no victory for them in Minneapolis. They know it. They are not acting like they think otherwise. There is nothing to do. If they pull out, it will get worse for them. If they call in the Army, it will get worse.

You don't cheapen the argument by doing that. It's politics. Politics is not throwing punches, it's throwing them correctly.

"Not everything is about money."

It is. You may not like it, but it is. Money talks. It's a question of how the money is used. It's wrong to simply say "You can't afford groceries." You have to say "Money that could help you afford groceries is being used to shoot your neighbors dead."

Ike knew this.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

I was less interested in the joint warning from Cupich, McElroy, and Tobin because they could be called, in the sense of the church, liberals. Broglio, Archbishop of the Military Services, is conservative. Telling troops it is morally acceptable to disobey going to Greenland is something.

The more I think about this, the angrier I get. It takes a particularly virulent strain of sociopathy to sit and let hard-working people serve you a meal knowing that you plan to arrest them and send them off for deportation once they're off of work.

Really depraved shit.
A few days ago, Fox News was whining about ICE agents getting heckled at a Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, in the town of Willmar, ICE agents had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, waited until it closed, then confronted and arrested three workers as they left.
