twitch will decide (based on nebulous factors) what channels you follow will get to notify you about going live. this is, somehow, you having more control over your notifications

i have been informed by a discord dev dropping into my mentions that the unread dots are actually a bug, which is great. i love it when a platform that constantly experiments with its users and servers also has bugs that resemble the intentional gaslighting.
the nice thing about discord and multiple computers is none of the four different installations i have of discord (maybe even five) look the same thanks to a/b testing and staggered releases. it's great. love it
