I’m not a news source, I post about life. My only socials (LinkedIn doesn’t count, silly).
If that’s not one of 3 primary reasons for reading those, I’m missing something.
The 3, as I understand them to be (order determined by mood)
1. To find your taste validated by someone you respect.
2. To harshly judge others’ taste.
3. To find new things to obsess over.

Year-end critics’ lists exist for people to fight over, so I’m happy when people complain about them. But the complaint I will never get is, “I’ve never heard of most of these movies/albums/shows.” Yes, and? Why be mad about learning about stuff you didn’t know before from the news?

I clovered the back half of my yard 2yrs ago and the difference from the other half is stark. Clover is vibrant, soft and lush. The grass is…just not. I put the same amount of effort into each one.

Turkey Soup 2025: made with our never frozen local turkey, fresh local vegetables, stock made from the bones, Rotel, and yellow curry. Had intended to add spinach but it looked off so I passed. The only thing that came from a can/box was the Rotel and the dried rotini.

The photo selection feels intentionally backhanded, and is he’s disagreeing with what’s being said. The text was commanded but no one bothered to proof the photo choice. 😆

I'm not sure how to say this any more simply. ACA premium tax credits are for people, not insurer. People receiving a tax credit can use it to buy any plan in the ACA marketplace. As an administrative mechanism, the government then forwards the tax credit to the chosen insurer.
