@laceslibgremlin.bsky.social
I have a dog, some lacemaking skills, and some books.

Not my real name.
Pinned
My things are misinformation, education, and sociology so I absolutely see how that could be confused with conspiratorial thinking.

So. New rule. If you think I’m going too far out on a limb, assume I’m not, tag me in a separate post. Don’t accidentally spread misinformation in my replies.
Do me a favor: remember that to non-Black people, I am Black. No one else has to acknowledge it but non-Black people treat me as a Black woman anyway, so it’s best to consciously recognize that.
Anyone who wants political reform should be extra in favor of voting a woman as president in 2028 btw

Every white person attacking Black politicians?

Check their timeline. They have zero smoke for the white felon and the white congressional criminals

Weird huh?

It’s like they are covert racists.

one way in which trump II is different than trump I is that there are far fewer people involved this time, and they're all true believers, so we're getting far fewer leaks this time around. i wouldn't be surprised if the number of people who know for certain what this is turns out to be less than 10
It really is amazing that the president has a noticeable an unexplained physical ailment that is disfiguring his right hand and there's no reporting about it. The White House's line is that it's from Trump shaking too many hands! Something is clearly being covered up.

big parts of the biden admin were sincerely convinced that delivering the outcomes they promised would make them popular, and this was an abject political failure. everyone calling the shots in this administration believes the exact same thing about their outcomes and how popular they are.

vought is a psychotic fanatic whose malevolence planned for project 2025 with no 2026 or 2028, the whole plan's success and longevity both depend on the idea that there's no thermostatic reaction and that americans find the outcomes of it appealing. that's the idea of a fanatic, not a planner

the thing is, they've turned everything immigration-related to stephen miller, who has never run for office, has never held an elected position, and who could not win a popularity contest consisting solely of members of his own household. he is indifferent to the future of the republican party.
it is absolutely unbelievable that the Trump administration is systematically persecuting Cubans and Venezuelans, the most Republican Latinos in the US. what are they doing

it is actually a major fucking political problem for this administration that they have key decision makers who believe the GOP will never have to win a fair election again

part of the reason i've got such contempt for the doomerism around "they don't think they'll have to win an election again" is that this belief — which i agree some of them hold — critically endangers the entire project, it doesn't strengthen it. they are incapable of shifting strategy or pivoting.

every crime committed in the context of a war is not a war crime, every death in a war is not a murder, but this was absolutely cold-blooded murder in a way that no war could justify, even if we were at war, which we aren't

state power and orders are also well-documented, which eliminates both of my primary objections to the death penalty, actually, now that i think about it
one view of mind that has changed is that, while i remain strongly opposed to capital punishment in most cases, i'm basically agnostic on it now when it comes to people exercising state power and authority in ways like this
One of the dilemmas of living through the second Trump administration is that saying these things out loud seems crazy. But yeah, the death penalty is an established, well-documented thing we have on the books for precisely these kinds of crimes; they obviously did it; and it's not hard to prove.

the reason we don’t really have suicide bombers is because we have nearly ubiquitous assault rifles and access to ammunition (i also have a crackpot theory that this is why we don’t have as many serial killers now)

the young groyper republican is, like, excluding for income, the *textbook* example of a target for radicalization by basically every extremist group in human history, just a self-hating human-shaped vessel waiting to be filled up by the darkest thing that comes along
they've just never had to work hard for anything, they've never had to fight for anything, they're never satisfied with their efforts, they've never had anything they wanted to fight *for*, they don't believe in anything or anyone, including themselves

part of it is that they hate women, part of it is that they hate her specifically because they think she should want to fuck them, part of it is that all this shit is for the benefit of like 10K people on twitter who've all been legally prohibited from having unsupervised time with their children
I don't really know what the administration hopes to gain by picking fights with the most well-liked pop artists in the United States. You're just generating backlash for no discernible reason outside of owning the libs.
Sabrina Carpenter ratioed the White House after it used her song in an ICE video.

The WH deleted the post…but now it’s back with a new ICE video, this time using an altered clip from Carpenter’s SNL monologue.

learn an instrument, join a band, spend your teenage years and your twenties killing your bad brain cells and your eardrums with a bunch of other dopey stoners from a wide variety of backgrounds and gender preferences, you come out on the other side with only good brain cells, it's science
If it weren't for a positive chance encounter at 19, I could have easily fallen into that. We men really need to make an effort to put the young dudes we encounter onto positive paths. Don't ask me how, I don't know.

I’ve seen enough coverage of organized crime investigations to know why cops don’t want lying to be illegal but obviously something needs to be done because that should be a method of last resort. They didn’t even check if the guy was dead! #Dateline
