The Guardian points out that the document Trump is forcing Ukraine to sign was highly likely to have been written in Russian by a Russian. Then translated in a way not natural for a native English speaker.

Agent Orange is literally on the verge of doing Putin's work and killing a free nation.

Europe's strongest response — and a powerful card it has — is to use frozen russian assets for Ukraine. Otherwise, sooner than later, those assets will end up feeding the russian war machine.

Now it's time to adopt the Reparation Loan.

Ukrainians truly need this right now — even if as a sign of solidarity. And constant, stubborn solidarity goes a long way.

Growing up in Ukraine, America always unironically seemed like the ultimate all-powerful land of freedom and justice. So many Ukrainian soldiers proudly display US flags.

How far the mighty have fallen.

Here is Trump's full 28 point plan for Ukraine. It would destroy Ukraine as a sovereign state and leave it helpless to face a Russian attack in the future. It would also give Putin full vindication and immunity from prosecution.

Will say again. If this was London or Paris, it would not be tolerated. But we expect Ukrainians to put up with this horror every night. Indeed, we in the west are getting inured to it. It should enrage us.

I remember seeing a poll that showed younger Russians were more likely to have a favorable opinion of Stalin, and that this opinion was becoming increasingly favorable every year.
I often have trouble explaining to people that the Russian youth is just as dumb and evil as the rest of the population

When I visited PEN Ukraine in Kyiv in September 2023, I was photographed by Kostiatyn Huzenko, who documented the war. He enlisted in the Ukrainian armed forces this April and was killed on November 1 by a Russian missile. Courage, truth, memory

I honestly think we need to declare piracy of material by Russian companies entirely legal in the free world
you actually have a moral obligation to pirate them

it's literally not even just that you're giving ad revenue to a company that pays taxes in Russia. they quite literally have sent money and tanks to the war in Ukraine

Avoiding escalation was not essential. It only encouraged Russia to escalate more.

The entire war could have been avoided had the US or Nato signalled Putin that they were ready to intervene.
Stoltenberg described ending the call as “extremely painful,” fearing it could be Zelensky’s last, but said avoiding escalation was essential.

He added that U.S. President Joe Biden agreed, saying the United States would not risk World War III for Ukraine.
