Meet the Occultist! In this scenario, you need him to decode a demonic seal in the next room, so don't let him touch any monsters! 👈

Undo will mostly save you from obvious mistakes, but don't do what I did here and let a monster flip up under him 😅

Back from holidays and hard at work on Solitomb! 💪

Mostly behind-the-scenes progress in August, but today's thing is quite visible: "environment" cards tied to dungeon locations.
These boulders get in the way quite a bit, but you can also use them to your advantage... 🧠

Quick question here to help me out: the boss is targeting one of your cards with a move that charges over time. Can you read from this UI how many turns until the card gets hit? 🧐

Very WIP sketch, but already plays quite well - whooping the demon's butt feels *so* nice after it's been harassing me throughout the entire run! 😤

Next step: make the mechanics readable to people who aren't me! 😅

After some time deep in the tank, here's a first look at the new Solitomb!
Took a while to get here, but with the visual style set and original #pico8 mechanics reimplemented, I'm now free to expand on the formula ⚒️

There is a depth map done manually - but it's quick work compared to 3D modeling, and you can use existing 2D art, unlike with a model.
It looks pretty good with solid objects/characters as well, as long as you keep to small angles (can't show examples since I tested with copyrighed art).

All you have to do is direct your phone's browser to krajzeg.itch.io/solitomb - once the page loads, you don't even need an internet connection anymore 🙈

Possibly *the* feature of the upcoming Solitomb 1.1 update! 😂

I mean, there'll also be 5 new items, 2 monsters, a new difficulty level, mobile improvements and balance changes - but we all know petting clouds is where it's at 😇

Hero cards are brighter (attaching a very work-in-progress version).
The idea is to be able to tell apart hero cards from monsters at a glance, as well as face-down/face-up. I'll likely be tweaking colors once I can get a feel for them in-engine (it's hard to judge with just static pictures).
