Distractions are distractions, whether they’re phone calls, passengers, reading billboards, or having extended conversations with your significant other in the passenger seat without looking forward (lookin at you, Hollywood).
Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.

@paigeleitman.bsky.social any advice for my son whose looking for a way to start playing DnD online? He’s completely new to it, but having trouble figuring out where to start. He found a group, but they charge $15 a session, which sounded ludicrous to me. Or am I wrong?

This is the right approach — speak to them as you would an especially stupid child, spell out their crimes and your contempt clearly.

I will just reiterate -- even though doing so has long since become pointless -- that keeping these current lunatics out of office was an entirely sufficient argument for voting Dem up and down the ballot. People who didn't do so should feel bad about themselves.

It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year.
I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.
