In 2005, I found a wooden box tucked under a chair in my grandparents' living room. Inside were letters from the U.S. Civil War. I write about some of them here, and about the cross-generational efforts to save America from those who would destroy it.

i said to a friend it was a slow news day and then had to remind myself the president called for the execution of congress members and it’s just crazy how his blood lust has become routine

Behind this important reversal is a member of the Coast Guard who saw what was happening and had the courage to leak it to the press. That person deserves serious praise.

Call your Reps today and let them know what you think about the President calling for the death of members of Congress: U.S. House Switchboard: (202) 224-3121
To put a finer point on it: An "illegal order" is one that violates their oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

If you think that upholding the Constitution = sedition, well...you do the math.
Them: “You don’t have to obey illegal orders.”

Him: “That’s seditious! They should be hanged!”

Definitely not beating the giving-illegal-orders allegations.

The Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas and nooses as hate symbols.

This action, coupled with the President's call to hang Democratic members of Congress - both in the past few hrs - are more than "potentially divisive."

They are vile, unconscionable, and dangerous.

The President of the United States has raped multiple children.

And multiple women.

The President of the United States fomented violent insurrection against our gov’t to preserve power.

And today he threatened his opposition with death.

If you aren’t speaking up, you’re complicit:

This is a pretty exhaustive takedown by Judge Ellis, going through DHS claims versus body cameras.

Also, fuck ICE.
THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.

/3 Asserting the (legally correct) point that members of the military may refuse illegal orders is not conspiring to overthrow the government or hinder the laws by force.

You can tell because if it were seditious conspiracy Trump would be pardoning it.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.
