Two years after the Miramar Peninsula was declared predator-free, native birds continue to increase. In the often-demoralising world of conservation monitoring, that’s a big win.

Still $5 an hour less than the Living Wage (likely an even bigger when the 2026 Living Wage rate is calculated)

If we're going to keep wages this low we need to somehow reduce the cost of housing, groceries and utility bills

Minimum wage to increase from April next year, Govt commits to bigger rise than last year - NZ Herald
The minimum wage will rise by 2% to $23.95.

The TPU and Willis are now fighting about the debate venue. Willis wants it in parliament, Richardson wants it on ZB and citing 'anywhere anytime'.

This is stupider than the Elon V Zuckerberg MMA bullshit.

They should have it on Jupiter where they can both get stupider

its fucking pathetic how easily EVERY NZ MSM OUTLET is being drawn into giving this coverage

the BEST case at this point, as far as their critical faculties and courage, is that they're in on it because if they're just being gamed that's about as sad as it gets

Ok, so what I want from my house is no adverts. I want a fridge that makes stuff cold, an oven that makes stuff hot, a washing machine that makes stuff wet and a dryer that makes stuff dry. I don't want it to be smart, or wifi connected, I want it to be mechanically sound with a 20+ year life span.
A UK woman named Carol was hospitalized after a ‘PLURIBUS’ ad on her Samsung smart fridge sparked a psychotic episode.

The targeted promo read “We’re sorry we upset you, Carol” - mirroring the Apple TV+ thriller's plot - leading her to believe someone was messaging her directly.

Diving into the trash debate that is C Luxon's spotify age & I'd venture it's low because he's never listened to music in his life & thus has no go-to library of fave music from his 50 something years of life on the plant.
He's demonstrated he's a hollow shell in other respects.
Why not music too?

I can't stop thinking about the purported drug smugglers being murdered by the US military. The punishment for drug offenses isn't the death penalty. This is just bloodlust and men in suits playing with lives they don't care about. It's truly grotesque and gravely compromises this country.

The tunnel will take a decade and total gridlock to finish, just to save a few minutes to the airport.

Meanwhile Courtenay Place would have finished by 2029 and would have been fully transformed for people, public transport and a thriving hospo scene.
NZTA and the minister had refused to share a timeline, but the Herald can reveal the second Mt Victoria Tunnel and SH1 improvements project will take a decade to complete.

This is really just Opposition MPs doing their job, reading the accounts and asking the right questions. And the Minister of Finance insulting them because she doesn't want to answer the questions.
“Under questioning in the meeting, Willis also confirmed the government had no intention of buying offshore carbon credits to meet the 2030 Paris agreement as part of a "performative awards ceremony" even if that meant it would breach its commitment.”

I am so stoked about this. I could moan about some details, and how an enduring service must run multiple times a day, but simply having an operator prepared to run this in such a hostile car-centric environment is such a step up from having nothing for over two decades—I’m thrilled. We need this!
