OK, I know more about the CA case and we have more information on the deployments coming out, so a few thoughts.
1. This is a massive overreach of POTUS authority. Using Section 12406 to federalize/deploy military forces w/out also invoking the Insurrection Act is literally unprecedented. 1/

1/ If accurate, this is almost certainly a conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the use of the military for domestic law enforcement, including the National Guard if they are federalized.

They’ll probably “compromise” and not try to kill whoever gives them the most in campaign funds.

If we are going to get our country back, we need to keep this in mind. We don’t have the luxury of not engaging w/ or accepting help from imperfect allies. If they want in on this fight, let’s welcome them! The other 9 lessons are important, too. If we are mindful of this ⬇ we will be stronger.

In light of tariffs and fed firings and grants stolen, I’m remembering five years ago when the hospitals asked us to sew PPE at home so they could try to save lives from a disease we didn’t understand, because global PPE supply lines were disrupted. No connection probably (whistles nonchalantly).

My uncle presented a great idea tonight. All sellers of goods should post the total price of a good on the price tag (with the tariffs) AND the total price of the good *without* the tariffs imposed. Then Americans can see for themselves how much they will be paying as a result from Trump.

I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.
