Train Dreams is such a beautiful film. And joins the list of the best Terrence Malick films Terrence Malick didn’t direct. Joel Edgerton gives the performance of his career. Restrained and subtle. Will Paxton provides the narration and there’s a sense of deep time few films achieve.

He's right. I was raised Evangelical, and they damned near said this openly. They hate social programs that feed the poor, because feeding the poor lets them act as God's comb, getting the lice who aren't worthy of redemption out of the population.
i just need people to know it's not hypocrisy when Devout Christian Mike Johnson cuts off SNAP benefits. it's not a lack of "christian charity" to make kids starve; it's because the christian right wants to control who gets food, through churches, so they can deny queers and sluts at will
