Nintendo is very good at designing games and applying mechanics with precision, but they don't understand A SINGLE THING about the narrative appeal of their sagas: not Mario, not Zelda, not Metroid (let alone lesser popular ones like Star Fox).
They have the same syndrome as Sonic Team.

I have SEVERAL fantasy series where I bought the first book on cheap paperback, but they never published the rest of the series, so I had to buy an expensive, ugly hardcover compilation editions. The only thing this has achieved is that now I think twice about whether or not to start a new series.

Aquí siempre llegan todas las estrategias de la derecha USA con meses de retraso, pero con Vit* Qu*les tengo que decir que estoy sorprendido de que se haya puesto a copiar a Charlie Kirk DESPUÉS de que este, eeeh, terminase su carrera.

Hot take: Most JRPGs are for kids. And for adults who like to feel some child wonder. And that's OK too! The main mechanic dictates the goal of "growing" and delve high on escapism. WRPGs usually go more for roleplaying, so it's more about "behaviour", but that doesn't made them more "mature".
