Hi new (apparently mostly Colorado) people! I am a librarian/archivist at a private university here, I am from Kansas (6 gens back on my mom's side), and I am an abolitionist, believer in harm reduction, and the need to protect public goods and services, including but not limited to libraries.

I'm thankful for all the technologists, FOIA officers, parks workers, public health researchers, criminal investigators, and countless other civil servants who have kept diligently doing their jobs under extreme duress. This year has been bad but it could have been so, so much worse.

This is an important story and I want to note something. I read @denverite.bsky.social's fantastic reporting on this raid in Feb when it happened, so thought "oh god, it happened again." No, this is the story from the February raid. Denverite, please incl this context if you re share stories.

In newly leaked audio, Peter Thiel admits he urged JD Vance to ignore Pope Leo XIV on moral questions — including the ethical development of AI.

He goes even further, branding Leo “the woke American pope” and suggesting he’s a tool of the Antichrist.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

There are more people organizing and pushing back against the regime today than there were in the first term. There are more people in more places (rural towns and big cities across the country). I think it's really strange how resistant some people are to these facts. I wonder what's going on.

That means that Mother Randle, who just celebrated her 111st birthday two weeks ago is the last living survivor of the 1921 Greenwood Massacre.

Mrs Fletcher.....you deserve your peace 🙏🏾
I forgot to mention that Lessie Beningfield Randle, better known as Mother Randle celebrated her 111th birthday 4 days ago.

One of the last two survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

Both Mother Randle and Mother Fletcher are 111 now.

And still without justice.

Happy birthday Mother Randle

Don’t do this, you guys. The enormous pile of dead bodies, and small but still massive of dead careers, would point to the opposite being true: DOGE was a massive financial and political boon to Elon Musk and it paid off marvelously for him at horrendous cost.
DOGE is one of the greatest failures of the Trump administration. The next Democratic administration should pick up that issue and actually work to cut government waste, fraud, and abuse. I’d suggest starting by taking a look at Elon Musk’s government contracts.
