What a disgrace!
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

I am not even sure whether this is necessarily a very effective victory speech, but in terms of rhetorical skills, “The Speech” is next level.

Worth your time! 🙌

The interview Charlotte is talking about is a very good example of hypercaution being self-defeating. Labour gain nothing with most voters by not expressing an opinion on Mamdani. The right will attack anyway. What they do, however, is further annoy the engaged activist currently leaning Green.
So much of Labour’s comms is just weird and confusing at this point. Surely it’s really, really easy to decide to offer congratulations/support to a wildly popular left-wing candidate who has just pulled off a historic electoral victory

I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

When was the last time you heard a politician in the media asked anything like-

-How will you make sure asylum seekers can reach the UK safely & refugees are protected?

-How will you make sure people coming to this country to work or study are treated equally & with respect?

I cannot remember.
Where else could this very smart & bound to succeed approach to “beating” the far right be happening then?
