The Winter Solstice sunrise at Newgrange is one of Ireland’s most powerful connections to the past✨

This RTÉ Brainstorm article by Terry Clavin of the @dib.ie (based at @ria.ie) explores how archaeologist Michael J. O’Kelly rediscovered the alignment in the 1960s.

The increasing number of extreme climate events – floods, wildfires, hurricanes, etc – has NOT raised awareness of the threat posed by climate collapse. Instead, people change their idea of normal: the “boiling frog effect”.

But “before and after” data can help.

The absolute madness of it all. Private jets should be banned
As Europe wilts under a record heatwave, a scene that could have been from 'The Hunger Games' unfolded as over 90 private jets descended on Venice for marriage of hyper-billionaire Jeff Bezos.

My piece on heatwaves, #climate & oligarchs is in @thejournal.ie

This, 100 times this, and more.
If you’re rioting or even just protesting because a foreigner has been accused of rape, but you never rioted or protested when a white Irish bloke was accused of rape, you are not a defender of women and are - quite literally - just a racist
