Hi new follower horde 🤭, I'm Kami (like it says on the can). I self-publish mostly sci-fi/fantasy stories that explore gender and technology and relationships.
I'm also currently working towards completing some small games to hone my skills for my dream creature-breeding game, 'Go Forth'!

Wife coming into the kitchen just as I tell the child, "Don't put the fork in the dishwasher!" and having to explain she's trying to insert the fork into the door panel with the probable objective of disassembly. 😑

I wonder if it's not a popular view but I rather love Mrs. Oliver, I wish Christie had given her books in her own right although perhaps not for murder specifically. 🤭 #reading

Lol that guy mouthing off about narratives in games not being as good as narratives in other mediums yada yada, he is perfectly willing to act like that is a topic for serious discussion I guess but really it's of the type better kept to circles of those who also like sniffing their own farts.

Sigh my child headbutted my desk while crawling around under it and my laptop fan started making grinding noises of death again. Nice to know I'm going to have a miserable time with my technology to look forward to over the next couple months. 😭

Wife has bought an old (they're all old now, I mean 80s era) VCR for a Christmas project and it's beautiful, we're cooing over it like normal people do over an infant.
It doesn't work in the slightest, won't so much as eat a tape, but it is gorgeous! 🤣

Already seeing the 'made by straight women for straight women' barb against Heated Rivalry, which I think is really funny actually because when it's a work especially outside of the romance umbrella featuring violence or abuse frequently towards women nobody is nearly so worked about 'who it's for'.

Really enjoying getting back into reading more about programming and technology. Don't always have the energy with the added mental load of school admin as well, I'm more inclined to confine myself to recreational reading that doesn't require thinking. 🙀

Really enjoying not having to leave my house to tell other people how to do their job properly today, but so far my knitting got pulled off the needles and there is water in my beloved KitchenAid scales, both of these events have the same general cause. 😭

A weird day. Got to meet with representatives from the hospital we have a complaint against and directly communicate my belief that the individual who originally vilified us is not fit to continue in their current role based on what we observed. At least my conscience will be clear in the future.

It's a little sad watching people who have built up an online career for themselves as entertainment media critics making themselves miserable engaging with things that are clearly not meant for them when they might otherwise choose to enjoy the bounty of things out there that are for them. 🤷

Finally my holiday begins!
Well not really haha there is no proper holiday with kids to wrangle, but my boy is off formal school sessions for a couple months which will make him happy, and I'm happy for him. 🤭 Little does he realise I'm going to keep educating him by stealth across the break... 😈🍎
