I guess they wanted to get those last little scraps of mileage out of the fake romance plotlines, but maybe they should have considered that actually a lot of people clearly liked Emily even without her playing into a dramatic narrative and would have liked to see her story get ANY ending! 🙄

I did not know this friend existed until this moment and especially with the paperback detail I need one.

My wife and I own loads of retro technology, gaming and otherwise, between us these days and honestly physical collecting is a lot of work! You have to have time to tend a collection especially if you have aging hardware, it's a whole other hobby to the gaming side of things really.

I find the console purism really weird as an older millennial who had to get into many games through emulation as a kid since my parents preferred to spend what money they did have on more 'educational' technology. 🙃 It was just another way to be part of the hobby then, albeit a slightly cheeky one.

Like good job bro for starting a discourse that upsets and invalidates people and is unlikely to lead to any positive developments in the field, just so you can feel like you have a seat at the table. Huff huff. 👏

I want to get that one for my wife but I already desecrated my savings getting the kids' presents, and she'd know I partly got it for myself as well. 🤣

Yeah it doesn't even make sense. Just a few isolated comments at least but it is one of those things that always irks me when I see it.

Anyway I once bought into the 'for straight women' claim but then I realised almost everyone I knew who enjoyed these kinds of romances was queer so nope, that's not it!

Got distracted by my toddler stealing the kitchen tongs to crush ice and nearly forgot to finish the post and you know, this version kind of covered it too. 🙃

I haven't seen it or read the books yet to comment on specifics but people always get extra riled up about these women-originated gay romances and let's be real, it's mostly because the relevant culture thinks women should not enjoy things men do not get anything out of.

Wow was something lost in editing or are they suggesting that paranormal romance was popularised by BookTok? It's twenty years since Twilight was published, even if one missed the PARANORMAL ROMANCE sections in mainstream bookstores that was kind of a big deal...

I never thought I'd see someone share this niche view with me! Her songs so beautifully complemented the emotional narrative of the original anime they are a huge part of how I feel about it. I wanted a more complete story but something was definitely lost without Okazaki's music.
