If we now understand that Euclid’s Fifth Postulate actually predicted non-Euclidean geometry, shouldn’t we be calling it hyper-Euclidean geometry instead?

I recently directed a new podcast called “Places She Shapes” recorded at Abbey Road Studios.
Hosted by Zoe Smeeth, the series showcases women who are succeeding in business and the obstacles they faced. It’s quite shocking, actually!

If I was Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, I’d schedule a benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity in honour of Jimmy Carter on Jan 20th starting at noon. Just a suggestion.

This is as mesmerizing as it is disturbing.
Just remember: LLMs are NOT AI. Period.
That was just a marketing ploy to make people think that they were better than they were.

Truly excellent advice. I’ve been on Bluesky for over a year now, and membership was low for the longest time, so I think a lot of us grew complacent with not looking out for bot incursion, but with the sudden increase in new accounts, that’s changed.
Damn.
You should learn to recognize this kind of cruelty spam the same as you do any other spam - it's just another scam, but instead of fishing for your personal info or credit card number, they're fishing for your engagement and anger.

1) The simplest answer is just... vibes.

Bots (and trolls) are vibe pollution. If you flood an internet space with algorithmic hate and cruelty, then people tend to have a bad time. They leave or lock their comments or disconnect from the internet entirely. Over time, this can break online spaces.

An explanation for the Fermi Paradox is the "Sustainability Solution." We don't see advanced civilizations because exponential growth and expansion are unsustainable. Any advanced civilization would be indistinguishable from nature. Which makes them hard to find.

Scientists, academics, researchers: We’re excited to share that @altmetric.com is now tracking mentions of your research on Bluesky! 🧪
There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research.

A Place of Joy.
