And let’s not get complacent even on the ones who have made statements saying they’ll vote no. It’s not real until the vote is logged. Keep calling (in addition to volunteering, protesting, donating, creating mutual aid networks, etc.)

The ICE agents who killed him walked around the scene, picked up dropped gear and a magazine, holstered their weapons, and then one drove their car away.
Cops helped them out and never even asked their names.

ICE is already has a surplus of funding from the bill last year, this just prevents additional funding. Nothing changes in regards to their enforcement ability because of this bill dying.

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

The key point is that the ICE military occupations are predominantly not about enforcing immigration law. That is a pretext. They are an attempt to terrorize, injure or kill those in political conflict with the Trump Administration. They make no meaningful attempt to follow or enforce the law.
It’s currently operating totally outside of our constitutional rules. Habeas corpus , due process of law, equal protection, freedom of speech, 4th amendment protections against search and seizure, are all not being enforced in any common sense or meaningful way.

At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.
