I still like yellow numbers. I now like blue skies.
Sometimes, due to a couple similarities in appearance and their positions on two devastatingly failed presidential tickets, I momentarily mix up Tim Walz and Tim Kaine. (I suppose probably also bc of their first name).

I am so sorry to Tim Walz for that.

It’s not for me to say who New York’s senator(s) should be, but I now firmly hope AOC takes a run at Schumer.

Regardless of whether his senatorial career ends, it is within my purview to hope his leadership ends. That’s a position in which I am a constituent of his, and he’s gotta go.

Whichever high profile Dem announces a primary challenge to Schumer first has the advantage.

This would have been more redeemable by the Dems if they’d all voted for it honestly. Then they could have at least messaged about being the saviors or something.

But the cliched “Dems in disarray” is now just plain accurate.

Feckless leader
Schumer: "I must vote no. I can not, in good faith, support this CR. ... Make no mistake about it, the American people know who is inflicting this pain on them."

He stops short of urging his colleagues to vote "no."

Maybe one of these f*cks will decide to have a McCain moment.

Whether you think this caving is justifiable or not, it seems certain to that Schumer has failed to be a leader again.

At this point, it’s utterly bonkers that any Democrat would trust any Republican to negotiate in good faith.

Why in the world would Dems cave now? I don’t understand.

This is surely more illegal than forgiving student debt.
Amazing

The NHL is a POS league that should be sued into submission.

Absolute text book goalie interference call not made. Everyone involved in that should be investigated and fired. Absolute stolen point.

A majority of the days the government has ever been shut down, Donald Trump was president. www.howtoreadthisch.art/red-versus-b...

What was #19 on Mizzou mad about there?

Rare example of a pardon from Trump I’m okay with. While I’m not religious, Strawberry has long since appeared to have his life on track and doing good work in his faith. He didn’t skirt punishment as he served his decades ago.

Also doesn’t *seem* to be any bribe situation here. That said…
NEW: President Trump pardons baseball legend Darryl Strawberry, who was convicted of tax evasion charges.

Mamdani's line that billionaires spent more to oppose his candidacy than he proposed to tax them really says it all.

Like a company that shuts down a profitable location as soon as it unionizes. The principle of maintaining control is more important.

2025 has been like that portion of It's a Wonderful Life after George wishes he had never been born and all of a sudden the world is worse for it and everyone is living in Pottersville.

That's what 2025 has been: Pottersville.

@kblairstl.bsky.social Even assuming the final 15 mins go closer to expected, putting this absolute fear and frustration in their fanbase is amazing. Hope you’re enjoying it.

We should have more of them in the USA
Cities are amazing accomplishments of humankind.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

I actually think the offer from the Dems is... good.

Firstly, I'm pretty sure they knew it'd be rejected. And so now the GOP, who is already being blamed for the shutdown, will be framed as rejecting an incredibly reasonable compromise.

Secondly, if it were accepted — the Dems are the heroes.

If Peabody is bailing on downtown, can we just tear down that building and re-completed the Gateway Mall?

(I don't think I actually mean that bc density and good office space and such, but you know.)

I know this isn’t the audience who needs to hear it, but FTR, Walmart didn’t say Thanksgiving is cheaper this year. They assembled their Thanksgiving bundle so that it’s 25% cheaper.

They did it by substituting items, giving less overall items, and using more generic products.
Trump: "Affordability, they call it, was a con job by the Democrats."
