People keep telling me that I have nothing to fear, as a social scientist who is also a birthright citizen born to parents who were not permanent residents of the US at the time
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“

Unpopular opinion:

Instead of one European on the Moon, we get one German, one French, and one Italian each only flying around the Moon.

Europe's problem in a nutshell called Orion. Instead of achieving great things by thinking European, we remain mediocre by thinking national.

Three European astronauts (one Italian) will take part in the Artemis missions. (Assuming there are any after II.)

I just want to say, we all know that the person who could least handle being the subject of a roast is Elon himself. We saw it when he came out during that Dave Chappelle show.

It's harder to pull out the human spaceflight numbers from NASA's 2026 budget request, but it's basically the top two major lines, which go from $11.9b to $11.5b (-3.5%). Europe is going big.

Personally, I'm most interested in looking at human spaceflight, which would be getting at 39% increase in this proposed budget 🤯

Fundamentally, the relationship we are encouraged and expected to have with LLMs is that of the citizens of Oz to their Wizard. It's magic, it's all-powerful...until we look behind the green curtain.

For some reason the OP deleted their post, but it was about an assignment that asked students to learn what AI can and can't do by critiquing LLMs
I did this in both of my classes this semester. It was super successful. The students had to ask an LLM about a subject they already knew well, like their favorite musician, movie, sports team, or something else they had previously researched.

RFK Jr is so sure he's right because he has never, ever been forced to reckon with the idea that he is wrong. He's the definition of "born on third, thinks he hit a triple," combined with a psychopathic sense of entitlement. That is it.
NEW: When RFK Jr. first told Trump that Tylenol might cause autism, the president wanted to tweet out a warning. Kennedy told him not to do that. There was nuance, and the drug companies would push back. “I don’t give a shit about that,” Trump responded. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...
