And for them to not disappear. I’ve lost track of the amount of songs that have disappeared from my music library because the liscencing rights lapsed. Movies aren’t any better. I’m not surprised kids are hopping on the pre-subscription media.

This book is Adult not YA. But I shouldn’t be surprised that a newspaper that “our employees are encouraged to be curious about AI.” would skip the most basic level of research.

This guy is the academic equivalent of a dude screaming voter fraud over single digit bad ballots. And he wants to publicaly humiliate kids over it.

Related: I feel like a lot of the piracy vs buying discourse (🤢 that this is even a thing) gets framed as stealing money from individual authors vs. stealing from faceless corporate publishers when for most authors it’s about whether or not they’ll get to publish another book.
