When I discovered the flip of this, my brain broke a bit - that a huge chunk of folks listen to longform video as an audio-only podcast, right? So it's all a spectacular waste of time for everyone.

Politics is selective quoting and the more selective the quoting the more politics it is.

Is this something?

Zoiks. That’s real bad.
A small (personal) example of this book’s intellectual dishonesty:

My father-in-law is reading In Covid’s Wake, and excitedly told me he found a passage where I’m quoted. The quote in question is me saying the FBI worked to censor speech on social media.

Huh? When did I say that?!

Transistor, that game is near perfect.

I'll say it again: if any other ethnic or religious minority said "please don't use this particular term or chant, you might not have bad intentions but it is deeply racist and threatening to us", the reaction would be mortified apology.

And that's without a mass terror event four days ago

Thinking about it one of the reasons I'm so fascinated by the command line is probably growing up with Windows 95/98 mean't you dropped back to DOS fairly frequantly and it felt like computer archaeology.

It’s just extraordinary that some people on the left continue to see this ignoramus as worth listening to. Imagine being nearly four years into the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, after all that’s been said, and still refusing to understand that speaking Russian doesn’t make a Ukrainian a Russian.

"The Overshoot"

Net migration is collapsing, and will fall further over the coming years. We could even have net emigration.

What does that mean for the country and the political narrative as we head towards the next election?

A customs union won’t fix Labour’s growth woes
The Government is, we are told, considering crossing its own red lines and rejoining the EU Customs Union. Indeed, according to one Cabinet source, this is “the only idea around” on growth.  Aside fr...

As Sunder has correctly pointed out our state religion is not "(Christianity, denomination may vary)" It's the Church of England and taking this position as a Catholic is an interesting one given the history of these islands.
Tomlinson confirms that this is the racist view which he advocates for both parliament and the civil service.

He says if Badenoch, Patel, Mahmood, Lammy or Miliband want to be in public service, they should emigrate to "their nation of origin" (even though they are British-born British citizens)

The "smartphones/social media" discourse suffers from some amazing historical amnesia. There was no 2008 financial crisis and no global pandemic starting in 2020, it's all SCREENS SCREENS SCREENS. Major world events? Just the backdrop against which SCREENS happened.

"This murder of Jews wouldn't have occurred if those Jews way over there hadn't done something to deserve it" is Nazi talk and you need to automatically report and block anyone who says it. Yes, even the cool leftists.
you know the Nazis also blamed the Jews for Kristallnacht, you can find many German diplomats expressing regret about the events followed by "but what can you expect when the Jews act this way?"

The number of times I’ve been on holiday and stumbled on a memorial to some massacre of Jews.

I currently work on a street in London that used to be a Jewish ghetto until they were expelled by Edward the first.

The reminders are everywhere.
I've written a piece about what I think some non-Jews don't understand about how Jews view security
