Yesterday, I walked ~4 miles through #DC with my camera, starting with the Logan Circle #nokings protest (which then marched to the north side of the WH), then I walked down by the WH to the Mall Wanted to share some photos and thoughts. I'm on insta @/shape_color_motion; doing more politics there.

After the Kirk shooting, Republicans postured about concerns of extremist violence and dangerous rhetoric, but they have never cared about these things. Trump has been inciting violence for his entire political career, from the Tree of Life synagogue to a Walmart in El Paso to January 6 to today.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) says someone showed up to her D.C. office today and made white supremacist threats. Capitol Police had to intervene.

This was hours after Trump said Democrats in Congress should be executed.

Trump’s 28-point proposal drawn up with Russia and without Ukrainian and European input is filled with non starters for Kyiv and Brussels: ceding Donbas as DMZ and recognition of it as Russian; reduction of Ukraine’s army; enshrining in constitution that Ukraine country won’t seek NATO membership….

NEW: Mississippians still have not received their full SNAP benefits more than a week after the government shutdown ended due to problems with a 40-year-old computer system running on COBOL.

And there is no guarantee they'll get them before Thanksgiving—or even by December.

For context, the US has only had one year of 6% GDP growth in the 21st century, and that was 2021, and the result of correction following -2% contraction in 2020. During his first term (where things were better) Trump never broke 3%.

Goldman has one of the most optimistic GDP forecasts among serious players. They’re at 2.5%. The Fed is (last I checked) at 1.6%, and that’s actually a slight upgrade.

No serious person is projecting 6%. But Lutnick has his job because he’s not a serious person.

Call your senators and representative, and tell them that you support Sen. Slotkin and Kelly and the representatives exercising their freedom of speech and reminding our servicemembers of their right and duty to uphold our laws and Constitution and refuse illegal orders. Urge them to censure Trump.
Here's a slightly different follow up: "Speaker Johnson, do you believe members of the armed forces should follow unlawful orders?"

There's also nothing wrong with that, SO LONG AS YOU MAKE SURE THAT PERSON HAS REVIEWED AND CONFIRMED THE ACCURACY OF THE PHRASING YOU DRAFTED for them.

But you ABSOLUTELY need to make sure that they do that
This is a lawyer thing that is far more common than lawyers like to admit. It comes from backwards reasoning. ”We want result X. We have to put on testimony Y. Who knows about those facts and is qualified? Do a declaration for him and put it in there.”
A senior ICE official just admitted in an evidentiary hearing in Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s case that someone else drafted his declaration in the case and he didn’t know what certain words meant.

(yes, because i need to know you know how to do it and you know what you're asking wolfram alpha to do when you have it do it for you instead)

Important: House Dem leaders just said Trump's call for execution of Dems has prompted them to contact US Capitol Police and House Sergeant at Arms to "ensure the safety of these members and their families."

Treat Trump like an unhinged menace. He's weak and in deep political trouble. Don't let up.

Public officials reminding members of the armed forces to obey the law shouldn't be remotely controversial, but it is in this administration because ordering violations of the UCMJ, domestic, and international law is a major feature of this administration's policy.
