Finished Horns last night in my #HillReread and now on to my favorite, NOS4A2. Listening to the audio book read brilliantly by Kate Mulgrew.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.
Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.
This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

New in PN: Marjorie Taylor Greene flees Trump's sinking ship
"Whatever her motivation, it's clear MTG believes it's to her advantage to defy Trump in ways it was not before. Trump once seemed invincible; now being associated with him seems like a one-way ticket to electoral Siberia."

These 8 useless Democratic Senators are all wealthy and have feathered themselves a lovely retirement nest.
They don't need to be in these positions anymore.
They can amble away into the privileged nothingness that defines their spinelessness and lack of courage.
Demand more and better, folks.

Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.
Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

Do you have any personal little mantras that get you through the day?
“It’s only yogurt!” My wife works for a yogurt company and was told ‘mistakes happen, but it’s only yogurt.’ Perspective is everything.
“I’m not here to fuck spiders!” Classic Aussie one. No notes.

One is "let that be enough."

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
