It's been brought to my attention that if we'll all repost the cartoon with her article's name and substack info below it, Ann Tienaes can better benefit with more clicks.

Not all parts of my story excited me to write. Crucial bits that have to be there to progressive the relationships within the group. Sometime I even consider hiring a ghost writer for some of it. I know the scene, I just don't wanna write it.

Let’s make sure Trump can’t take credit for this.
BREAKING: The Israeli security cabinet has voted in favor of a US-brokered ceasefire deal to end the fighting with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

President Biden to address the nation at 2:30PM from the Rose Garden.

THANK YOU PRESIDENT BIDEN!!!

Now with the holidays coming up, don't forget them in your books! World building should include references to holidays and different cultures!

Remember to have patience with your book and your writing. Don't linger on when it'll be done just how it'll be done! I mean, we're still waiting on Winds of Winter

There's plenty of ways to affect readers emotions through writing.

While I was writing my action scenes I really struggled to make it faster pace. I had to shortened some of sentences and actually tell rather than show. This kept interest and the rewrite was worth it!

Environment is important and the actions of your characters should affect it.

For example I had a scene where a character shouted, the canyon they were in was suppose to feel empty. I could convey that by an echo in the canyon.

Don't forget environment when writing

God forbid I just want to collect all the books that I possibly can, move into a mossy cottage in the darkest part of the woods, and make a lil home there amongst the animals and nature.

I learned this from scrip writing but I find it still applies to all writing. When writing dialogue ever character should feel distinct. If you stripped away everything and left just the words they spoke, you should still be able to tell who is talking.

Work building can be difficult. Keeping that world building consistent is almost impossible. My tip for today is write things down! Even minor things their made up holidays or name for currency. Have a table with everything that you can reference!

I'm going to admit something...I never read the Harry Potter series as a kid. I always thought it was too childish. Now that I'm older a frickin love those silly wizard children and angsty teen Harry lol
I love a good book series and discovering one is always a delight. Watching the characters grow and develop, each new book is like returning to friends. What book series do you like? 💙📚 #Booksky #Books

I have always been bad at naming characters. I used to pick very obscure names with even more obscure meanings. The harder they were to pronounce the better.

Now, I can appreciate more simple names. Having a simple name doesn't make a character less interesting.

To get into the mood to write for my main character I listen to the playlist I made based off them. What do you guys do to get into the right perspective?

When I was younger my parents told me I would never be a writer

When I was a teen my friends were all writers but I wasn't aesthetic enough

When I grew up I moved away and picked up my pen again

When I'm old I hope to have never put that pen down

Don't let anyone make you feel you can't write!

Thinking about your genre is important. Studying other works can not only provide inspiration but teach you their common tropes. I'm working on a scifi western and there's a lot of common tropes and anti-tropes. A few I will reference and others I would like to break. Up to me

Book update, I'm only six chapters in and still at the first conflict of my protagonist! When I've written before I found it hard putting more chapters in to fill. Now it feels like an excel story I'm having to make more concise to fit.

Small things like this happen in writing all the time. That's why it's important to read before you submit! I personally read chapters to my cats :)

The more this place reminds me of why I liked social media so much the more I realise that I stopped doing so a long time ago. It’s extraordinary what happened. The volume & violence of posts from accounts you had never shown the slightest interest in just exploded. It *must* have been deliberate.
