People think they know what they want but they generally dont. Sometimes if they're lucky they'll get it anyways.
ok i know I'm very late to this but I can't stop laughing at bryce harper, hooked up to a machine overseen by a chiropractor, writing "circulates your blood outside your body" as if keeping your blood on the inside hasn't been one of the main goals of every living creature that ever walked the earth

Wrote this fun piece about women who quit their corporate city gigs for Hallmark jobs! It was a real blast to report out (and lowkey inspiring) www.bustle.com/life/hallmar...
Burned Out At Work? Maybe You Need A "Hallmark Job"
What it's really like to quit the corporate grind, find charming work in a tiny town, and marry a local fisherman.

I love when people argue lennon's politics would've gone south "like clapton's" as if clapton's views are some sudden recent thing and he isn't known for having one of the most racist outbursts of the 20th century while lennon was still alive
two debates i have pretty frequently with my friends:

• would john lennon (and his art and politics) have aged well?

• did paul mccartney and *his* legacy benefit from lennon's death because it allows him to be the sole authority on the relationship between them?

why is it even possible to buy a fridge that's connected to the internet? why is it legal for target to force you to make an account to buy shampoo online? why do I have to download an app to hook up a sound bar to my TV? why is there no will to stop any of this? (this is rhetorical do not answer)

I spoke with @hellgatenyc.com about our negligent landlord and the dangerous conditions they’ve created in their rent-stabilized buildings (including in my own apartment).
A ceiling collapse in a Crown Heights apartment over Thanksgiving weekend is the latest sign of neglect inside buildings owned by billionaire Joel Wiener’s Pinnacle Group.

Now, tenants are intensifying their calls to halt the current bankruptcy auction of 93 rent-stabilized Pinnacle buildings.
All They Want Is a Landlord Who Doesn't Suck
And more news for your Wednesday.

don't know, probably not gonna find out, but "reënters" gave me a good laugh so at least we got that out of all this
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

in an academic sense the purple end is the tip but visually it's the green end. these cannot ever be truly reconciled. in the same way that literally now means both literally and figuratively, you must simply accept the answer that its a single-ended double-ended phallus
Help settle a disagreement. Which end is the tip?
