It’s true that most of the electorate is very stupid and amoral but also, Donald Trump is a bilious old fool who has been allowed to run the national news media through Facebook and Twitter for a decade and any time someone objects they get a lot of condescending afflatus about ideological diversity
New piece: Most Trump voters did not "vote to deport moms." They voted bc inflation was high under Biden, to deport criminals, or something else. Many do not support Trump's policies. Welcoming those voters back into the tent is key to future Dem victory.

Not all Trump voters "voted for this"
Trump’s policy agenda is very unpopular, including with many of his supporters. To win the next election, Democrats need to welcome regretful Trump voters back under the tent

We will not win the battle for democracy if those in the pro-democracy movement prize caution over taking risks. We cannot permit ourselves to be deterred by the defeats and public criticism that are inevitable along the long path of restoring democracy. Now is the time for fearless leadership.
The Survival of Democracy Depends on Our Willingness to Fight
Justice Riggs is right. We should not have to fight for democracy. But the reality is that we must.

Great interview on the Big Budget Bomb that is now before the Senate. Asked to summarize the impacts, @crampell.bsky.social said the bill is "a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich, from the young to the old and from the future to the past."
