I was right.
But also, yesterday we had our first victory, the first step in climbing out of this very deep hole. Good work everybody. Let’s keep it up.

Well, here we go. The country, quite likely a majority of it, just returned a criminal to power over all of us. It’s going to be a rough time for keeping the Republic, if we can. I predicted in ear...

The plan is to have a real print run of this, to make it possible for people to more easily pass these around in policymaking circles. At a lower price point (and free for patrons; specific tier info to be determined) a downloadable PDF will also be available. gofund.me/162cdfb0b
To liberals who understand the stakes but feel at sea when it comes to solutions: The Reconstruction Papers will provide solutions. It will lay out a vision to rebuild for our era rather than repairing relics of the past. Let go of your grief for a flawed liberal past, embrace the liberal future.

It’s worth the effort here even if the swing ends less than 22 points and the Republican still wins: We find out what can happen if we fight. We build for the future. And we put fear into the minds of Republicans. Which may lead to more resignations. Valuable impact, _no matter what_.

So the MRI results were super problematic like the phone call where he got impeached. And they made him take a cognitive test for senility. Okey dokey.
Reporter: Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results

Trump: They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.

Reporter: Can you tell us what they were looking at?

Trump: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it.

Get under the bus, Petey.
Reporter: If there were a second strike that killed wounded people, would that be legal?

Trump: I don’t know that happened and Pete said he did not even know what people were talking about. I wouldn’t have wanted a second strike. The first strike was very lethal. It was fine.

Maybe another way to think of it is as the "participation line" - the income one needs to fully participate in expected aspects of US life without worrying about plunging into deprivation one way or another

An investor called $140,000 the new poverty line. Experts disagreed but said he had a point.
Michael Green’s tally of the costs of raising a family in the U.S. today is going viral, even if some economists scoff at his math.

Black Friday $ sales are higher this year because things are more expensive. So consumers aren’t buying more items, they’re just paying more them.

This is a good discussion, there’s a lot that can be done to build institutions better so we don’t have to have a revolution in order to check the power of dictators. Or at least, other countries seem to have tools _that we do not_ and we should figure out those tools.
I don’t even really think this is the problem. The Constitution prohibits basically every terrible thing Trump has done. The problem is that our institutions have decided to ignore the Constitution. Can’t fix that by changing what it says.
This regime is making the best arguments possible that we need to fix the foundations of our democracy if we want to keep it.

They’re simultaneously arguing that soldiers have to follow all orders from the president, legal or not, but they get to ignore orders from a federal judge if they feel they’re not legal.
KARL: Did you know about the judge's order when you issued your order for the planes to continue?

KRISTI NOEM: This is an activist judge. We comply with all federal orders that are lawful and binding.

We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

Pro tip for the folks who *haven't* had vaccines as a special interest of sorts: If anyone is making claims about vaccine side effects and you see they're blithely citing data from VAERS, you can dismiss whatever they're saying as bunk.

Real scientists do use VAERS but not as "proof" of anything.

But Putin isn’t mad. don’t put in the paper that he’s mad.
Vladimir Putin calls the leaked Bloomberg tape of Steve Witkoff and Yuri Ushakov conspiring to manipulate Trump "criminal espionage." He didn't want anyone to know that he was doing this - and he's visibly angry about it.

"Never spread the lie in the headline" should be a hard rule of 21st century journalism.

Research shows that repeating lies helps to spread them, and people read headlines more than they read stories.
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

So, Frank M. "Mitch" Bradley could have used the later advice of the six members of Congress as to refusing illegal orders to murder. He should be prosecuted fully.
Hegseth's not the only war criminal here. "The [USSOCOM] commander overseeing the operation from Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Adm. Frank M. 'Mitch' Bradley, told people on the secure conference call that the survivors were still legitimate targets... He ordered the second strike."
Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.
