The unwillingness or inability of Dems to manage their text spam problem is not a sign of organizational health.
Remember when STIR/SHAKEN authenticated caller ID was going to make text spam manageable?

Text spam like, for example, the dozens of spam messages I get for Dem fundraising every day.

Weirdly progress has been slow and the slow progress has gotten no media attention.

Even the ai of 2026 may allow significant number of people to do bad things. If those things are bad enough then ai use will eventually be 100% monitored with "user license" requirements. Possibly no use allowed before age 21.
The Future of Being Human highlights how ChatGPT is being increasingly used to report users to authorities.

People discussing sensitive or illegal topics may find their conversations reported, blurring the line between helpful AI and digital surveillance.

My big concern is that OpenAI hasn't-

Trump really shivved JD Vance when he endorsed Tucker's interview w/Nick Fuentes, who had been mocking Vance and making racist comments about his wife. Trump basically dumped the Fuentes mess on him.

@zackbeauchamp.bsky.social nails the dynamics in this exchange:

I remember everyone I knew saying the .com bubble was going to blow.

But i don’t recall corp execs broadcasting the same.

I wonder how that changes the dynamics of bubble collapse. I’m most interested in Tesla, the Enron of our time.
I like how these guys get to have it both ways

they get to inflate the bubble via broad product misrepresentation and bogus math

then dole out sage warnings about a looming problem they created as if they played no role in it

I don’t think there are any health economists left (jk, but it’s not like the 90s), but the idea of separating the employer subsidy from employment is not necessarily bad. I’d need a health econ opinion.

Next he is going to suggest VHA be a model for the public option Obama couldn’t get.
He's proposing this again today:

1. Take money away from insurance companies.

2. Give that money to the people.

3. The people can then buy their own insurance.

4. From, presumably, companies that sell insurance.

5. Which are also known as "insurance companies."

Decades of social media and nothing is as efficient and effective as a typical hierarchical RSS client display.

I can scan thousands of one line post titles very quickly and can easily mark as read and see if not unread. In the time it takes to scroll through 100 skeets I have already seen.

Seriously. We have no memory. BUT, if they keep it up ...

So either ...

2. More things are wrong with journalism

There are now many interesting topics that are video and podcast rather than, say, a skeet or two.

I assume it’s related to monetization but this doesn’t seem scalable. Nobody has that much time.

It will be nice when I can just ask my ai to summarize the cast/video without extra keystrokes.

It has been wild to watch the the federal court system largely thwart authoritarianism on all fronts from judges striking down bad faith bullshit to juries not buying trumped up indictments/charges juxtaposed with SCOTUS doing everything it can to green light despotism. Seems unsustainable.

Epstein’s demise was overdetermined. So many suspects. But of course, Trump above all.

I wonder if Ghislaine was the brains of his operation. She has things keeping her alive and in relative comfort.

Trump and Pete Hegseth just killed three more people in another bombing, this time in the Pacific. The dead were said to be part of a "designated terrorist organization," which is itself utterly absurd. No evidence provided.
Trump's illegal murders in the Caribbean just got worse. An internal DOJ memo on the bombings says the victims are waging war on the US, but per NYT, it extensively cites the WH's *own claims* to this effect as evidence!

It gets even darker than that. 1/
