i hate it when someone I know but never talk to maybe once a year does something like move and then even though I never communicate with them I have to find out all the details because in my head I have to know where all my people are can't have them running loose

I dunno what bodega's are called in san diego is it cantina's at any rate I was walking back from one with some water and lemonade for Joelle and two kids were misbehaving and their mom's were frustrated with them and I just growled "listen to your mom or you will turn out like me"

One really nice thing we can all look forward to is when the economy does recover, the next wave of hotel/motel/ air bnb renovations should all be in the post FUCK IT WAINSCOT EVERYTHING FROM FLOOR TO CEILING IN WHITE era, and moving past the current interrior design hellscape will be welcome

I don't know how to explain this to someone who does not understand it, and maybe it is trauma from the military about punctuality, but If I have an appointment at 4 in the afternoon or dinner reservations are at sick, I need you to understand that that is the entire mental focus of the day.

tonight joelle could not figure out how to turn on the shower in the hotel room and it was just a straight up average shower and afterwards I had a talk with her and was very clear that we must always live in a first strike zone because she is not build for post-apocalypse living

so all we got at the hotel bar was a couple appetizers so I ran down the street and got a burrito from roberto's (california because when in california- it was delish, too) and I saw this thing called hot carrots and thought wow I love cooked carrots I bet they made them spicy.

Ok so driving through the Cleveland Mountains today I once again wondered why there are so many stories about mountain spirits and native american peoples centered in the relatively young rocky mountains when the appalachian are 400 years older and there were tons of native americans around
