I’ve been saying that I felt Trump’s dramatic escalation in recent days was driven in part by Musk’s emasculation of him last week.
I also wonder whether it’s being driven by Zelensky’s profound humiliation of Putin, and Putin lashing out at Trump for not delivering Ukraine to him.

We are in the midst of turning the world’s powerful military away from its focus on Russia and China towards a new enemy - the American people themselves.

The correct way to connect the authoritarian presence in LA and the Big Beautiful Bill is that the bill gives the government the resources to do this in dozens of cities at once. So if you don't like what's happening in LA, it's coming to your town if the bill passes.

The economic harm & human cost of research interrupted (or not started) that'd otherwise provide the basis for life-saving drugs (just to name one example) is "yuge", as Trump might say. And it's not like other countries can make up the gap. Humanity will be poorer, and for what? Owning the libs. 😢
Three things made the US a rich and powerful nation: the rule of law, its science & innovation system, and openness to foreign talent. Remarkable how Trump has taken a sledgehammer to all three. No enemy of this country could do more.

Trumpian Projection: Look for it in every major statement or action. It's the tendency to accuse others, usually "godless, communist" Democ-RATs, never mind the fact that many Dems their lives according to the Golden Rule and favor regulated capitalism with social safety net *and* high GDP growth. 🙄
Glad to hear they have a Weaponization Working Group to consolidate all their planned weaponization of the DoJ.

No POTUS can just "set the deal". Countries have other options as trading partners. Will the switch take a long time & cause financial pain? Sure, but why would they trust a man like him not to break tomorrow whatever deal he strikes with them today? And look weak back home? No thanks! #ElbowsUp
