Daniel Pinkwater’s “The Snarkout Boys and the Avocado of Death” takes place in the same universe as the John Wick sequels. And since the Snarkout boys were published in 1982, technically John Wick takes place in the Snarkout universe.

I think one of the attractions of British spy stuff is that American spy stuff tends too much to the fascist. Le Carré can write about stoic bureaucrats with failing marriages, Tom Clancy has to write about karate champions who end up as the president.

There is a lot more soundtrack, and the soundtrack is a lot jazzier than I remembered. It’s a whole sort of Charlie Brown Christmas thing going on in the background.

This only works, and I’m absolutely serious, if the wisecracking sidekick gets ripped apart by an alien horror in the second reel.
Everyone who was complaining about Computer Adam in Fusion/ Dread owes him an apology because he at least fit into the world and his cold speaking style fits. This guy is just like “woahhh Samusss help meee” like Slippy getting chased in Star Fox 64

The “you are nth in the queue and the wait time is x minutes” messages and a little queuing theory reveal that my local utility has exactly one operator on duty and they started their shift 20 minutes late

Counterpoint: they should make complex A24 produced horror films from 90’s action cartoons. I, for one, would be first in line for Ari Aster’s STREETSHARKS or a grim body-horror exploration of BIKER MICE FROM MARS
They should go back to making children's cartoons based on R-rated movies. Kids should be sitting down every week to watch The Substance Adventures, where actors have something mildly icky happen to them as they learn a valuable life lesson.

Stuck in the “Soviet moles in British intelligence” corner of Wikipedia, and wow:
- There sure were a lot of Soviet moles in British intelligence, OR
- British intelligence sure was good at catching Soviet moles, OR
- The press sure was good at finding out when British Intelligence caught a mole
