The recent Tomb Raider remasters toe the line with the optional modern controls (I guess the Uncharted 1 clean up of game feel too) but largely yes
If the gameplay is updated, it’s not a bloody remaster

AI discourse will remain fundamentally frustrating on here until people can distinguish between AI as a marketing/shareholder term for useful tools and generative AI that is spitting out slop art etc
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

The times are probably shorter given Avowed got an internal reboot post Microsoft acquisition as didn't need to push for multiplayer for publisher interest and OW2 basically started dev full production circa 2021/22 after COVID/buyout integration.
Like, sure, it was six years between TOW1 and TOW2, they're not immune to the industry-wide increase in dev times. But they also developed Avowed (and Pentiment, and Grounded) alongside it. With a lot of other studios, TOW2 would've only just have started development

Silent Hill 2 looks and runs beautiful on Series X. Quality Mode particularly smooth with frame pacing which is nice.

The running issue of Series 4 peaking at bombastic *everything* (for better or worse) is that basically all of the 2009 specials are trying to outpeak a peak. The title of this one reading as empty tabloid bait at a time when The Stolen Earth had already done that shit

Quite possibly my least favourite RTD script. You're going to have this theme about Jackson Lake still living up to the title of The Doctor and yet he doesn't get the honour of flying his own TARDIS or even get to save his own son. Infuriatingly squandered story.
