I think January isn't too concerning anymore. One of my favorite movies of the year - Steven Soderbergh's PRESENCE - came out in January.
Now that super blockbusters release all year round now Jan is a safe time to release a mid-budget genre flick now and still find an audience.

No one online actually knows what the budgets of these studio blockbusters actually is.
According to this Forbes article the production cost of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, was $593.7M.
And this was "under budget".

Dude has a (very earned) ego and takes no shit and loves his military tools and expensive toys but as a storyteller the guy is a big hearted softie.

(I also theorize the one mention he made of AVATAR 6 + 7 was a lie done to play nice with Disney cause they only want neverending franchises. Each film is SO EXPENSIVE they all need to be global smash hits to break even. You can't hand these films off to a journeyman.)

I'm fascinated with there being this large section of the AVATAR fanbase that thinks James "I made the one Alien film with a happy ending" Cameron is going to give his saga a dark the bad guys-win ending.
The final film will have an emotional ending & characters will die but it'll be a happy one.

Not surprised to learn Leto was originally signed on to play a pure villain role for what was meant to be a direct sequel to TRON: LEGACY and when that fell apart he pitched turning his character into a central hero.
