Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.

Always an honour to judge the RTÉ Sport Awards and very grateful for the opportunity. A very, very tough year I wouldn’t wish on my own enemy to judge.

Goujons and no gladrags for this year for me!

Writing was on the wall a little bit with Gleeson’s FAI contract. I always felt they should’ve chased Pia Sundhage before she joined Switzerland. Casey Stoney available too 👀 YOLO, FAI!

Garrett shushing the crowd and then watching Toney instantly screw up the punt was far too funny

I accidentally got Beyblades banned from my school because I encouraged my pals to use my tray as the arena. Got a lovely scar under my eye! #LateLateToyShow

And the fact the immediate concern is seeing the momentum of support slide if they don’t qualify for major tournaments irks me and highlights the mad inequalities between men and women’s sports.

This should be a wake up call to establish an u20s team and start bridging the gaps

Post mortem later but what this team have done to promote women’s sports is exceptional. The fact we have two sporting icons called Katie who have pushed the boundaries. It was not to be tonight and there will be massive regrets naturally. Kudos to Wales, just more clinical on the night

I hate football

Absolutely loving the energy from Ireland tonight
December 3, 2024 at 7:57 PM
Just know I’m there in spirit screaming IRELAND and having a meltdown
December 3, 2024 at 7:29 PM
Not to be dramatic or anything but it literally is now or never for the Irish WNT tonight against Wales. Gotta balance the conservatism with some serious potent attacks. Literally praying for the right result!

Barbra Banda has become the target of racists, misogynists, and transphobes after *false* reports she failed gender eligibility tests

Women like Emma Hayes have had enough and are pushing back against hateful comments from the likes of JK Rowling and Mara Yamauchi

It’s still bizarre to me that FF are emphatically rejecting SF as their coalition choice
The final seat numbers, when counting concludes in 🇮🇪 #ge24, are set to be:

Fianna Fáil 48
Sinn Féin 39
Fine Gael 38
Social Democrats 11
Labour 11
Ind Ireland 4
PBP-Solidarity 3
Aontú 2
Greens 1
100% Redress 1
Independents 16

Pickens tried to sell that penalty too hard and just fell down. But why would Russell throw that? What did I just see? #steelers

When the HSE wouldn’t let me leave Crumlin’s children’s hospital as there wasn’t adequate support in our local community, it was a batch of parents/people around Crumlin who donated supplies to get me home to Millstreet. It was a teachable moment I’ll never forget. Despite having nothing they all

Isn’t it that kinda snobby, dismissive “we’re above them” attitude from Jennifer Carroll MacNeill that enabled people like Gerry Hutch to get a nice stranglehold over those who were neglected by government? I’m not a Hutch apologist for that matter #GE24

I’d run in an election solely to see how they’d cope with throwing the limbless gal in the air. My siblings would line up to fling me into the abyss

There is very little difference between US cable news and the embrace debate ethos on sports TV.

Producers set up the conflict with the talent booking. Everyone gets their takes in. You try to “win” the arguement. It’s all monetized.

And the public gets fucked over because we all get dumber.
Conflict sells — period. Look at the shape of our country.

Genuinely wondering if disability was a topic on any of the surveys/exit polls or was it lumped in with healthcare (which is shameful!). Maybe it’s individualistic of me but thought it cropped up more frequently than last votes.

Richard Boyd Barrett stating the obvious that the left alliance needs to happen. Last 2 elections prove there’s not a huge appetite for the right but the desire for change is there. Put egos aside and focus on the common areas rather than the division.
