I have never enjoyed an MLB team more than this year’s Toronto Blue Jays team. At a time where domestic and world news hammers you down daily, they have provided me and my family with endless optimism and spirit. It doesn’t matter in the big picture but then again, it’s also everything.

Brady has really improved as an analyst since last year. Much more comfortable w. mechanics of the job, explaining plays, being himself in the booth. One area where you still don't get much: Criticism of coaches/officials/NFL. That might never come.

But he's legit improved — and respect for that.

Raptors have won 9 straight for the first time since February 2020, 7 straight at home for the first time since March 2023 & 13 of their last 14 games.

Most impressive? They've won each of their last 5 clutch games. 7-2 in the clutch this season.

The Raptors are incredibly fun this season. Congrats to GM @ekoreen.bsky.social.

As for my @tempobasketball.bsky.social:

I really like Madina Okut longterm. It's the kind of pick I'd make as an expansion team but, alas, I am not the GM and they have a good one.
So much to still figure out with the CBA but the Minnesota Lynx — already a top team — landing the No. 2 pick in the WNBA Draft sets them up for a big-time player.

CASSIDY: I know it's titillating, but I think we need to move beyond the titillation

TAPPER: This isn't about titillation. This is about the fact that you are the chairman of the health committee and you voted to confirm somebody that by all accounts is actually making America less healthy

Few NBA superstars make it to age 39 or beyond.

Even fewer retain their powers.

And fewer still are blessed with a much younger superstar.

Kareem had Magic. LeBron has Luka. Maybe it's time to follow Kareem's blueprint.

Latest from me, at The Ringer:

Kareem had Magic. LeBron has Luka. The blueprint’s already been written; the only question is whether James will follow it.
