It's good to have a ruler in the photo. But not knowing the units makes me confused about its size. Is it 2 mm, 2 cm, 2 inches or even 2 bananas? How big is it?

Though... I do wonder if all of these accolades mean that the talent that made this film will ever see rewards in tangible terms. As no movie, no matter how successful or profitable... tend to be able to reach the fabled "net profit" result.

Americans do realize that Judge Dredd was supposed to be a satire/warning, right?

Yes. It's a few billion compared with the trillions of the federal budget, but. Keep in mind, he's setting precedents. He'll continue to hoard the resources as long as he's able to.

I thought he was at least supposed to hide the true intention. Maybe funnel the money through some schemes. But no. The money is his now and he himself, not the federal government, can keep it hostage.

At what point are we supposed to be surprised?

It's like the stickers that break when opened. It doesn't stop it from being opened. But it does show it wasn't opened by accident. A proof of intent, so to speak.

I feel people misunderstand the intent here (or maybe I am?). It's not meant to physically subdue or hurt the offender. It's just a way to let people know that someone might see, record and report wrong-doings.

If the offender ignores it, he/she showed more intent, that'd be noted in the report.

As I have been doing some experiments with ersatzTV, it is now very tempting to put together a full QTV local area network channel... Of course STRICTLY closed circuit. No opening for external access.

But... My conscious tells me I should probably build my own wacky strange TV channel instead. :)

But in truth. I lived through the second half of VHS lifetime. I'm not bothered by the wobbly bottoms if it's there from authentic sources.

If it's an emulated artifact, however. Then my scrutiny goggles goes on as I compare it to real life artifacts. That's when my needless pedantry shows.

I am curious there. Is it just distorted video signal down there? Then it may be better to crop it if it's not possible to undistort.

If there's actual decodable data like closed captioning or something, then it should remain. Maybe could be decoded and provided as subtitles if a crop is needed.

Is that Space Sheriff Gavan? I might have to seek out a copy.

Dang ye, for reminding me that I need to see this one in a Cinema. I'll be darned if I miss an opportunity to see a Park Chan-wook film on a big screen.
