The most important tasks before us are to reduce suffering and to encourage thriving

Dear @nytimespr.bsky.social. Your press release re comments I gave to @transnews.network includes many errors but one assertion is true: “TNN featured an interview with a former editor on the International desk at The Times who was not involved in these coverage decisions.”

That is the problem

All of the Trump administration’s reasons for seizing Greenland—it’s for Arctic “defense,” Denmark can’t do the job, there’s almost no one there, and what right does Denmark have, anyway?—can all apply to Canada’s Arctic islands.

Ottawa’s gotta start preparing—now.

The difference being Chamberlain at least tried to do something

Chamberlain, confidently: "We have achieved peace in our time"

Schumer, in a whiny voice: "I am just a smol bean"
Schumer is the modern day equivalent of snivel Chamberlain before WWII

Re-electing the same weak sauce Democrats like @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and not stripping collaborationists like @schumer.senate.gov of power will only cement the fascists' hold.

Refusing to fix how we got here will just ensure that the rabid animal continues to froth and bite
We are now a rabid animal of a superpower. The threat to the world is so great that we need to stop hand-wringing about how we got here and focus 100% in this election year about how to stop them.
Stephen Miller, who wants the U.S. to steal Greenland and shake down Latin America, says: ”We live in a world … that is governed by force, that is governed by power. These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.”
That‘s a criminal pretending that a civilized world is impossible.

Jack Smith was not a wholly owned subsidiary of the Federalist Society. He also had a spine and a sense of right and wrong

Merrick "Abject Coward" Garland had none of those personality traits
I'm so curious as to how Jack Smith got what Merrick Garland did not.

If our *Senate* weren't hopelessly broken, our Judiciary wouldn't be, either
On the 5 year anniversary of the January 6th insurrection, a reminder that Trump is ineligible to serve as president under Article 3 of the 14th Amendment. His entire presidency is illegitimate.

If our Supreme Court wasn’t hopelessly broken, he wouldn’t be in the White House. He would be in prison.

ICYMI: Genocide scholars are warning that the U.S. is in the process of genocide against transgender Americans.

“So it’s not so much ‘will genocide happen?’ as ‘we got to stop it from happening.’” — Dr. Henry Theriault, president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (2017-21)

Me: I can't do January 20 for the hearing, your honor, because I'm having surgery, but I can do [dates in February]

Judge: Ordinarily I'd accommodate medical issues, but not for people like you. Attend from the hospital if you have to.

Lethality was what set Iron Age carpenters apart from today's effeminate, woke woodworkers

A faith of unending delights
Pete Hegseth: "There is an inherent dignity involved in crafting useful, powerful and lethal things. There's a reason Jesus was a carpenter and not a politician, right?"

Wild how Republicans were able to take their minority status and shut down Obama and Biden, but Democrats are unable to do the exact same thing.

A lot of folks are mad at Schumer for his refusal to fight. They are mad at how he consistently capitulates. At how he refuses to enforce party discipline
A lot of people are mad at Schumer for saying this. But he's right. Democrats don't control a single branch of government and they can't pass anything. Only Republicans can rein in Trump because they control both chambers of Congress. Democrats have no cards to play here.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

SELL TREASURIES

At the same time develop a parallel banking system. Sanctions only work bc of US financial hegemony.

If the world refused to buy, but instead began a massive selloff, a lot of those billionaires pulling strings would find those same strings tighten around their necks
I think the world is in disbelief at the shock and awe speed at which the US is unravelling, the reality of what they have become seems to be too much too quick for leaders to digest and act on. Europe / The west need to discuss the unthinkable of how do we uncouple and protect ourselves from the US
