The EHRC admits there's no way to enforce anti-trans exclusion using paperwork.

Therefore it's only possible using gender stereotypes.

Therefore they defend excluding basically anyone who might be suspected of being trans.

A recipe for utter chaos.

If CO2 emissions go to zero in 2050 (top), the sinks (green) will bring atmospheric CO2 back down (middle), & temperature will stabalise at ~1.7°C (bottom).

Going to zero today will keep us <1.5°C

Constant emissions leads to 2.6°C, rising rapidly thereafter.

Ahead of the #Budget, I've written about the mistake of treating economic growth as an end in itself.

Ok, so to be clear, infrastructure investment to boost growth is good, but only if it also comes at the cost of credible climate action?

10. The freedoms we take for granted – political, economic, sexual, individual - were won through a combination of extraordinary struggle and extraordinary luck. There’s nothing “natural” or inevitable about them. They are in fact highly anomalous. And we won’t know what we’ve lost till it’s gone.

For a bit I forgot that the current political movement was won with a weak minority and is managed by annoying dorks who nobody likes who have terrible vibes. This video has 1.3 million likes and is a good reminder that better things are possible, even for those of us outside NYC. A good night!

Another post for #LibDems federal elections: please give April Preston a top preference for Federal Council. We need folks who live their liberalism and better working-class representation at the top of our party: April's a great choice for that.

She's currently off BSky but here's her manifesto:

One of the unexpected things I've learned from my advocacy for trans people is how malignant parts of the State can be, how it can misuse data for positively evil purposes. It's taught me people can't be safe with a digital ID card and so I've signed this. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/73...
Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards
We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

Illegal immigration isn't that big a problem.

Even if it were, digital ID cards would not be an effective solution.

And even if they were, they give too much power to the state.

I am a liberal, and I am against this sort of thing.

But unless I just blanked something, "should we be digging up more fossil fuels in an age of climate crisis?" didn't seem to feature.

The problem isn’t refugees on boats. The problem is oligarchs hoarding obscene amounts of wealth while most people fight to stay afloat.

Wages aren't tied to inflation, so the working class keeps falling behind no matter how hard they work.
